The Paint North Alabama Plein Air Competition returns May 18–22, 2026, bringing artists from across the region to capture the natural beauty and charm of Jackson County.
Throughout the week, selected artists will paint on location at waterfalls, caves, mountains, Lake Guntersville, marinas, farms, forests, historic landmarks, quaint towns, and other scenic destinations across the county.
The event will conclude with an Exhibit, Sale, and Awards Reception on Friday, May 22, 2026, at River’s Edge Gallery in Downtown Scottsboro.
A follow-up exhibition, the Paint North Alabama Exhibition, will be held June 1 – June 13, 2026.
Awards:
Best in Show – $1,000
2nd Place – $500
3rd Place – $250
Participating Artists:
Up to 35 artists (age 18+) will be selected by a jury panel to compete.
