Celebrating Independence Day in Downtown Scottsboro

Downtown Scottsboro was filled with red, white, and blue on July 4 as our community gathered for the 2026 Independence Day Celebration!
The day brought families, friends, and visitors together around the square to enjoy local vendors, activities, entertainment, and time spent celebrating our country and community. It was wonderful to see Downtown Scottsboro full of smiling faces and patriotic spirit.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the parade and to those who lined the route to cheer them on. It was a fun and festive way to begin our Fourth of July celebration!
A Patriotic Parade Through Downtown
The celebration began with a patriotic parade through Downtown Scottsboro, bringing plenty of red, white, and blue to the square. We were honored to have VFW Post 6073, American Legion Post 30, and members of their Auxiliaries participate. Their presence served as a meaningful reminder of the service and sacrifice of those who have defended the freedoms we celebrate each Independence Day.
Members of the Scottsboro High School Marching Band also joined the parade, filling downtown with music and helping bring even more energy and hometown spirit to the celebration.
Thank you to everyone who participated and to all those who lined the parade route to wave, cheer, and help us begin the day with such a wonderful show of community pride!

Plenty of Pie—and a Little Friendly Competition
The pie-eating contest brought plenty of laughs and friendly competition to the square! Contestants raced to finish their pies while the crowd cheered them on, making it one of the most entertaining moments of the day.
